but tiring. So I guess this is my introduction post. I got cert'd beginning of July with my girlfriend, but I think she's sorta meh about it and I'm a little too gung ho. After our PADI cert dives, I've been on 3 other ones, 1 in San Diego, 2 in Monterey. I've got to say, breathing underwater still "takes my breath away". Not really, but you guys know what I mean. I'm not sure if it will ever replace freediving for me since I'm a huge fan of the minimal equipment diving, but being down for 40 minutes at a time really rocks my world. I'm sure it'll get better eventually when I stop using gear that's older than I am (Regs, weights, fins are all early 80's). So just saying nice to 'meet' everyone and hope I don't ask too many annoying questions.

Welcome!

California diving is awesome but can be intimidating with the heavier suits, added weights, Pacific swells, etc for a newbie. Some day take the GF to the Phillipines if budget allows (no or minimal suit required) and she'll be hooked for life unless she just hates water and fish!

You're 'Hooked'...Might want to think about a support group...Helps between dives :D !!!....
