I unwittingly had something shipped "free of charge," from NYC last month; turns out, it was through something called "UPS Shipping Innovations" -- that innovation, being a wholesale lack of real-time tracking; then, two nonsensical, unrecognized-by-UPS tracking numbers, for a few days, then crickets; no actual guarantee of any "real" delivery date; and, then, the nineteen days that it took, to finally find its way to California -- probably, by that time, bouncing around the Mojave somewhere, in the trunk of the 1964 Chevy Malibu, from Repo Man, before that further twenty-first century innovation kicked in -- that parcel being passed along, in some sub-idiot relay, to the USPS, only to arrive, the edges of the box, strangely singed . . .
This service is good when it works, but I'd likely never use it again. Sold something to a buyer on eBay, free shipping, so on my dime as the seller. It takes longer than USPS most times, but not by much, and I hadn't had any problems prior, so I used it.

UPS did their job, according to tracking on their website, as they delivered it to the USPS station. USPS, however, showed no signs of having received it, so they took no responsibility and the parcel never got delivered. Fortunately, I had insurance through the carrier I purchased shipping from, so I got reimbursed. As for the parcel, it appears to have permanently fallen into a black hole.

Overseas isn't the only shipping problem. FedEx was supposed to deliver a wheel to me from NJ last Friday, Saturday, Sunday, Monday and yesterday. It's still not delivered.

That is normal for them.

Just roll with it.

Till when??

(I called FedEx to complain today. It was delivered at the end of the day.)

Idiots. These people don’t seem to get it. There’s nowhere to hide. Even if you started your own trucking business, the places you pickup from/deliver to are almost all going to require drivers be vaxxed to access the facilities.
Yep. In defense of my friend, he got the jab already.

This is a once in a lifetime event.

We do need to bring more manufacturing back Stateside, but most Americans like cheap. Stuff made here isn’t cheap.

I'd hope that the US as a whole and especially the national security people have learned a very valuable lesson here about the economic security of the US is just as important as any other type of national security parts. Manufacturing almost everything in China and its neighbors is the greatest threat to the national security of the US. China is the greatest threat to the US national security in the medium and long terms.

American desire for rock bottom prices is the greatest threat to the US national security in the medium and long terms.

Make stuff here (the US, that is) and make it repairable and maybe people will be willing to pay more.

Perfect example is Seaskin vs DUI. Granted the UK isn’t China, but a lot of posters here are going for $2K Seaskin suits vs the $4100 I paid last fall for my custom DUI FLX Extreme.
