I’m a wimp too. We have a limited luggage allowance because we will be taking a small plane. I’m trying to put everything in a smaller checked bag b

Thanks . Your information is very helpful.
Assuming the small plane you're flying is Tropic or Maya Air, I don't think there is a baggage limit. They might bring bags on a next flight if needed. They fly every couple hours to most destinations.

I was their last week. I did the first two dives in my 5mm then switched to a dive skin/rash guard and was never cold. Water temps were 85F down to 90 fsw. I normally dive in New England, so I am naturally cold tolerant. A 3 mm or a shorty will probably be plenty. I wouldn’t bother with a hood. YMMV

Thanks for this, it’s very helpful. I lived in the Caribbean for years before moving back to the states a few years ago. I still get cold easily. I’ve got a 1mm and vest and will take the 3mm as well.

full 3 mm and as the days go by, I start wearing my beanie and then my Bare Chilguard. I don't know if I ever added my Sharkskin over top, but may have done so one time. My Bare Chilguard is old now and seems to have lost its powers.

Where are you taking the small plane?
