Ladies I have a question for you.

How interested are you in finding a dive t-shirt that is made for women?

I can never find a dive shirt or tank top for women. Every time I go on a trip or look in dive shops, I can never find anything. The shirts always are too big or have skulls or skeletons on them. Or just plain boring.

I ask because I am thinking of making some to sell to my local dive stores.

What do you think? Any comments welcome.

There are some available off the internet, at least there are in the UK. Never seen them in shops or that though!

I would be for it... I have seen some on the internet, but they tend to be cutesy.... like with lots of little hearts with dive flags in them or something..... dumb.... I'd be interested in seeing what you come up with.... keep us posted.

That's what I'm talking about!

I hate the pink tank top with a heart around the dive flag. I'm not a cutesy kind of woman, but I'm not masculine either. Thanks for your imput.

I will make one exception.... There is group out of chicago that works with diabled and handicapped divers ... they are called "diveheart" and their logo is a heart with the dive flag in it.... I think it is beautiful and appropriate for what they do.... however, ... just general hearts, because it is for a 'girl'.... oh please!!!

Why stick with hearts when we could have rainbows and pink unicorns with dive flags on their horns or... or.... the possibilities are endless..............
(I am SO kidding!!!!!!)

Some friends and I tried to get a shot for a T shirt. We had plastic guns (scuba gear at about 30 meters), sun glasses and fake cigarets in our mouths, sitting in chairs on the bottom looking like Mafia guys. Since most T shirts have little pictures of butterfly fish saying protect our reefs or save the whales...we wanted a different approach. Alng with this picture was the comment "Don't F**k with Our Reefs". But the vis was so bad that day we never got it to print.

The specialist "dive" shirts are no better than good comfortable value-for-money regular shirts. They're just covered with logos and tacky slogans to make the wearer look the part. You'll often notice that on a divetrip, it's the tourists and occassional resort diver who are sporting the loudest and latest "in" thing while those who dive all the time for a living are wearing whatever does the job best (less money, will let their diving do the talking).

It's a gimmick. Go to a good sportswear shop and get shirts that are: comfortable; quick to dry; looks nice and fits well.

BTW, has anyone else been driven up-the-wall with the shirts with the slogan "Same same" on the front with "but different" on the back?

well, I agree, you don't want to be the dork wearing something that says..."watch me dive"... but some of the shirts are fun and I don't mind promoting things like reef care etc.

Cutsie=no
Cool=yep, count me in
