ok, so here's another song, and thanks to all who listened to my earlier stuff

this one is sort of country-ish ... back to the roots, americana type song ...

actually, i'm trying to rip off Steve Earl while trying to sound like Tom Petty doing Bob Dylan

SoundClick artist: Eclepto Funk Americana - Acoustic electric folk punk music, with powerful lyrical currents that explore rock and roll itself

Long Way Down

I've been down
this road before
get to the edge of town
and ride back for more

i'll build the fire
but i won't stick around
i just see my own life
burning down

so i stand accused
of these things i've done
go ahead, feel free
to cast the first stone

saying mirror mirror
on the wall
it's not like seeing
yourself at all

i ain't preaching,
i ain't sinning,
ain't denying
ain't believing

it's a long way straight
long way 'round
long way clean
long way down

i'll forgive myself
everything i'll never be
and i'll be thankful
for everything's been given me

time has no mercy
but it will let you heal
i know what's coming
but i have no fear

i ain't selling
i ain't buying
ain't accepting
ain't defying

it's a long way straight
long way 'round
long way clean
long way down

thanks Pete =)

Nice job, Andy! I especially liked the lead guitar work. :)

ah yeah ... well ...

anybody can play FAST and sound GOOD

takes real talent to go slow and sound like crap

:D

I have heard you sing, Andy. I think that you are going to need more than a "little" help.

frag me

you're still mad about that blind date i had with your cousin

for the record, SHE came up with the cow tipping idea

Believe me, you would HAVE to be blind to go on a date with my cousin.

And the really funny part of it all was, you guys ended up tipping YOUR cousin. It was kind of a dark night, I guess.

Naw, man... Seriously: It sounds great. What's your setup? What are you using for your multi-track recording?

I've got a Goya acoustic, a Kramer electric, an Ibanez hollow-body, Fender Blues-Junior tube amp, and an Alesis QS-8 synth. I'm using a Schure mic for vocals, and for drums, FruityLoops, a Boss DR-3 drum machine, and for software, Cakewalk Sonar.

Oh... And unbridled enthusiasm. LOL :eyebrow:

oh, i'm sorry ... i am so used to taking abuse from the likes of Scubafool ... he's overly proud ... only person in Lake County currently able to read and write past the 3rd grade level

well ... i play a Tele through a Princeton Chorus (i really need a studio amp), and an Aria Pro II bass (early 80's) through a Fame bass amp

other than the guitar, bass, a harmonica, and a tambourine, everything else you hear is a cheap Yamaha keyboard

i use a Shure SM58 for vocals and an SM57 for everything else, through a Radio Shack mixer (i use it as a pre-amp).

i record with N-Track Studio (i think i have version 5.9) and master with Audacity

you need to post some of your stuff
