Hello.

I was an avid diver all through college and many years afterwards. Probably logged well over 300 dives mostly in the Caribbean and Australia. Last dive was when we got married in Curacao just under 9 years ago. We had kids, and well, you know how that goes, no time, no babysitter.

So now, the kids are headed to grandma's and grandpa's house for a week in April. This will be our first vacation alone since we got married. I would love to find a place to dive again. We live near Seattle, and would love to go somewhere that we could do a couple of boat dives in the morning, and then chill out on the beach in the afternoon. Some place warm, comfortable, safe, but does not need to be fancy.

I have just been so far out of the dive scene, that I don't know where to go. I came here (on a recommendations from another board member) to look for suggestions. So any suggestions you have would be greatly appreciated. We hope to take a refresher course before we go. And since it has been so long, we are not that picky about dive locations. Although 'easy' diving would be preferable due to our hiatus from diving.

Thanks! And I am hoping in the near future we can start our kids diving too. I understand they have to be 10, but that is only a couple of years away!:cool2:

You could join the scubaboard Invasion to Cozumel. You can't beat the deal and Scubaboard members always make the event unforgettable.

Except that is in June . . .

One thing to be aware of is March - April is spring break, so a lot of places get filled up or jack-up their prices. Still, Coz or the Keys are still good bets for decent airfare and places to stay.

So whats wrong with June  Am I missing something?

So now, the kids are headed to grandma's and grandpa's house for a week in April.

I took this line to mean this is the time she and her hubby could go diving.

I missed the April date, My bad

But hey still join us in June, Kids under 12 eat and stay free and the hotel has a kids club with activities all day long.

That does look like a lot of fun. And very tempting. The last week of school though :(.

I very much would love to start diving again. And if it works out, next year is a definite possibility. My oldest turns 10 in Sept. I would love to get her certified and then take her to a large convention like that where she could meet kids her own age who dive.

My husband does not dance :( But my kids do :D. Maybe soon, my husband will not dive:confused: but the kids will:eyebrow:

BTW, we are leaning towards Cozumel in April. My husband wants to stay at the Iberostar. I am looking into Dressel divers right now. :)
