LZ Lambeau Ticketing Announced
Thank you for signing up to receive announcements about LZ Lambeau:
Welcoming Home Wisconsin Vietnam Veterans. Due to your early interest in
the project, we wanted you to be the first to know about LZ Lambeau
ticketing information.

Tickets for the LZ Lambeau program in Lambeau Field Saturday night, May
22 will be available starting at 11 a.m. on Veterans Day -- Wednesday,
Nov. 11, 2009.

Wisconsin Vietnam Veterans are eligible for one free ticket to the
event. Additional tickets for friends and family members will be $10
each. There is also a $2 shipping and handling charge for each ticket to
help cover administrative costs. Tickets will be available by visiting
LZLambeau.org (
LZ Lambeau
).

All other events during the weekend at the Lambeau Field Atrium and
grounds, including military vehicle displays, special exhibits, music,
reunions and more are free of charge and open to the public.
Back in the World Portrait Exhibit Opens
Back in the World: A Portrait Exhibit of Wisconsin Vietnam Veterans
opens at the Chazen Museum of Art
in Madison Oct. 31. Featuring the faces and stories of Wisconsin
Vietnam War Veterans that participated in the forthcoming Wisconsin
Vietnam War Stories documentary and book project, the exhibition
includes nearly 30 large-scale portraits by James Gill.

On Nov. 11, a special reception and presentation featuring remarks from
the artist and a panel discussion of Vietnam Veterans moderated by Mik
Derks, producer of the forthcoming Wisconsin Vietnam War Stories
documentary will be held at the Chazen.

The exhibition will be on display at the Chazen through Jan. 15. Next
year, it will travel to other venues in La Crosse, Superior, Oshkosh and
the LZ Lambeau event.

State Events Calendar Features Listening Sessions
The calendar page at LZLambeau.org (
LZ Lambeau - State Events Calendar
) is filled with opportunities to participate in Vietnam War-related
events throughout Wisconsin through May 2010.

Of note in October -- Veterans-only Listening Sessions: The Wisconsin
Veterans Museum, a division of The Wisconsin Department of Veterans
Affairs, has been working with the Wisconsin County Veterans Service
Offices around the state to set up community-based discussions for
Vietnam veterans who want to support their colleagues in talking about
their war experiences. Few Vietnam veterans had the opportunity to
discuss their war years when they returned, and lately have found an
opportunity in these closed door sessions to finally discuss their
memories in a safe and confidential setting.

Help Spread the Word
As LZ Lambeau approaches, word-of-mouth information is going to be one
of the best ways to spread news of the event.

Event organizers are hoping you will help share information about the
event with your fellow veterans, friends, family and neighbors. To help
get you started, two printable fliers have been created that can be
posted and spread around communities throughout Wisconsin.

Find the flier files by clicking here to visit LZLAmbeau.org. (
Fliers
)

Feel free to print and share as many fliers as you can use. Also,
please alert others to the fliers' location and invite them to share the
information, too.

And, please forward this message to a friend using the link at the top
of the email.

What They're Saying
The launch of the LZLambeau.org Web page has prompted a large amount of
feedback from veterans and their family members about LZ Lambeau. A
couple of these messages are below. Look for more in future
enewsletters. "What a fantastic idea at a great venue. My thanks to
the sponsors....I just called my brother and we're planning on making
the trip with Dad. I would also be interested in volunteer opportunities
for this event. Our Thanks to all Wisconsin active Soldiers and
Veterans."

"I am a Vietnam veteran and I am currently deployed to Iraq. I just
heard about LZ Lambeau and think it's a great idea and about time.
Comparing my 'Welcome Homes' from Afghanistan and Iraq with my return
from Vietnam 40 years ago it's about time we did it right for all our
Vietnam veterans. I'll be retiring after I return early 2010 and offer
my help if needed in making this event a success. At a minimum I'll be
attending!"

If you have sent an inquiry to the LZLambeau Web site and haven't
received a reply, please try again. A glitch in the early reply system
resulted in several emails being returned as undeliverable.
