I took my BP/W apart tonight to dump the water out of the wing and realized the pull cord on the butt dump was missing. Snapped clean off. Must have happened on the boat Saturday.

Can I just replace the cord or do I have to replace the entire valve?

DGX BC Overpressure Relief and Dump Valve

It's a Halcyon wing.

Take it apart and replace with Cave line (cord). Very simple.

The rubber disc comes out of the piece the string goes into

Pretty easy to replace, as mentioned above, peel back the rubber part inside the valve and feed some line with a knot on the end through the hole.

Thanks! Don't have any cord, but I'm off to the shop tonight for something else, so I'll see about picking up some cord.

unfortunately the small cave line cords tend to abrade inside of the assembly. You can replace the opv with one from DSS that uses a much thicker cord that may also be easier to grab with thick gloves. All of my non-dss wings have had this swapped over and the difference is surprisingly noticeable

Whatever you do, make sure there's no plastic fob on the end of the string to get caught on, or between, things.

The guys at the shop fixed me up. I'm going to see about getting an assembly with a thicker cord as I dislike the thin cord.
