Will Marineland ever be diveable again?

Merry and I checked out conditions today to see how bad they really are. For the first Sunday in a long time, we didn't see anyone attempting to crush bones by entering the water.

wow, that is quite dramatic surf. things should calm down by next sunday.

Plus the VIS is like chocolate milk. Let's hope next week will be nice.

The dive park on Catalina was fine... a fair number of divers and conditions are recovering quickly from the 1/8th inch "tsunami" that hit us yesterday.

Hey Max, thanks for the pictures. I love the second one, the surge on that wave would do some serious damage. We were up there on Friday afternoon, only watching of course.

I'm just wondering when any local shore diving is going to be diveable again....

We checked out Neptune's and the Cabrillo break wall today. It was ugly....looked very similar to the pics above. I'm sure everyone's sick of hearing me say it....but I'm sick of winter. When is it going to get better???

I was at the Redondo Breakwall this afternoon. Waves were going way over the wall all along the length of it. King Harbor was full of foam. Vet's had overhead surf at sunset.

We thought that the swells of 2005 and 2007 were bad ........This is a new all time low for us local divers .

Lets just keep the posative vibes for the ocean to calm down :blessing:.

After 12:30PM Saturday, King started emptying and filling in 20-30 minute cycles with a few yachts hard on the bottom. Cycles lasted to around 5PM.
