I just don't log dives
I am diving mostly steel 130s with an intent to occasionally use steel 100s, and perhaps aluminum 80s when on vacation.

I have a BC that is all fabric and doesn't have a hard plastic backplate (or metal plate). It is not very rigid and I have found that the heavier single tanks flop around and are not very stable, since the fabric alone is unable to adequately secure the tank.

Does the Transpac have this problem?

Thanks.

No. I crank my bands really really really really tight. The Transpac is pretty stiff for a soft pack and really comfortable.

If your in the market for a new rig and your using those tanks why not get a BP/W??

Thanks to all who replied.

Well, I may well end up with that, but now I'm just gathering some info. I really didn't want to get into yet another "BP/W vs. every other kind of BC" discussion, so I only asked the specific question that I was interested in.

Thanks for the suggestion anyway.

I use my Transpac all the time with a 130 and have no problems at all. I also use it when I double up my 130s. For single, I have the Rec Wing. Doubles I have the Dual Classic Wing. I'd highly recommend a Transpac to you, just make sure you're with someone who knows what they're doing when you size it out. There are a ton of tweaks you can do to make it fit perfectly.

P.S. When I go down to 80s on my Transpac with the Rec Wing, I tighten down the bungees and the wing stays nice and stable.
