Why do the dive magazines (at least the two I get) seem to totally ignore the fabulous diving in the Philippines?

I had a better level of instruction, better divemasters, and better safety in the Philippines than I did in the US. The prices are amazingly low; the corals breathtaking. Yet the mags act as if it doesn't exist.

The mags I get are SCUBA diver and Rodale's Scuba mag. (I don't remember subscribing to it, but it started showing up in my mailbox.)

I think Rodale's magazine is Scuba Diving magazine. Anway, add Sport Diver magazine to the list.
On the subject why Philippines is totally ignored, its either they've never heard of the Philippines before or maybe there's payola involved - I dont know. Scuba Diving and Sport Diver magazine ranks all the best diving destination in the world, with the exception of Philippines. Surely, Tubbataha, Apo, and Malapascua, to name a few, should make the list.

it has to do with the US govt and the fact the Philippines is on the "no go" list as you will get kidnapped and killed.....

Sorry folks but that is the truth....( i am stating that fact with my tongue firmly in cheek...but that is what most in the US believe because of the state dept.. mind you all the mags still feature Bali/Indo....)

I have a lot of difficulty trying to sell a PI article to US based mags....
