Charlie, the suit looks like a great fit on you and you did well today during your pool orientation. With all the various exercises you can now start to understand what everyone is talking about. If you are still chilly, add an extra pair of wool socks or moisture-wicking thermal undies. Enjoy the suit.

Happy Holidays!

Thanks Elena, and everyone else for all the advice. I did my pool orientation in my new drysuit yesterday. I was amazed at how natural it was. On my first descent I didn't even make contact with the bottom. I found neutrality very quick, and it was easy. I was using 14lbs and I think I was weighted just right. So I am planning on starting with 18 in the ocean. I was using my new scubrapro jetfins. The combo of the new suit and fins was remarkably comfortable and immediately clicked with me. I think my trim was better then it has ever been. While I was in the pool, I wanted to get the best feeling I could for the suit, so I continually gassed it till I was being pulled upwards by my feet and I was easily able to roll out of it and vent the suit. I never popped up once, and I was always able to control the ascent with in five feet.

But I still haven’t used it in the ocean, and because I was so shallow I didn’t have a chance to use the suit in conjunction with my B.C. Over all I felt like I clicked with this suit, and I know I am going to love it…when it works.
