There are probably as many reasons for being here, and enjoying SB, as there are members.

More, because day to day, I myself have differing reasons for reading, posting, or just lurking, depending on the thread, and my interests at the time. Sometimes I come to do research, or ask a question, while other times it is just to kabitz with fellow divers. Almost no day goes by without me checking in, to see what is in the wind today.

Some members here, have a lot to offer their friends, and even to total strangers seeking advice, while others may just come here because they need the attention. It is a large house, and there seems to me to be room for all.

It is all these reasons, and more that keep me coming back after all these years.

I wouldn't say access to experts, but I do learn A LOT from Scubaboard, mainly from all the opinions, tips and insights from a wide range of divers from different areas with varying experiance levels.

Living where I do, i don't have a whole lot of local options when i have a question about something besides talking to my local instructor. Although i value his answers (just incase he's reading), i like to compare and contrast it with the opinions of others. especially when it comes to gear and travel. In the words of a greater man than I, trust but verify.
