Why are scuba resorts sold out months in advance in Cozumel?

I planned to book my dive trip for late March with my LDS but they told me SCC in Cozumel is sold out already. How far in advance do I need to book hotel and scuba dive reservations for Caribbean and Cozumel? I am bummed because now I don't know where to scuba dive and stay in late March/April. Any ideas how to plan better?

Also note that dive operations can hold blocks of rooms in CZM. You may want to work directly with your favorite local dive operation.

@Sunny2012- unfortunately no luck with my LDS (Any Water Sports) since all booked for end of March this year at SCC. They told me I could get on waiting list but chance is slim. I guess the LDS booked rooms last year already which would explain why no rooms left? Anyways better to do it on my own like I did last year.

So, perhaps mid-April would be better luck when the spring break kids go home?

Can anyone recommend a good and reputable PADI dive school in Cozumel? I'd like to take more advanced PADI courses like wreck diving and deep diving. I'll check around Trip Advisor on resorts close by as well unless someone can recommend a nicer place close to diving than SCC which is small and always booked.

Let me try this again. If you go to Scuba Club Cozumel - Caradonna Dive Adventures then you can book SCC yourself. I had no trouble booking the last week of March.

Why dont you go to Fiesta Americana? dive shop it on site 75$ a 2 tank boat dive or $6 shore, great food.

Maybe his LDS reserved a bunch of rooms and those room were sold out, not the whole resort?
