My last trip was the first trip I took in which I had my own gear. I put all my dive gear in a duffel bag and took it as a carry on (basic gear, I don't have big can lights, dpv, camera, or anything like that). My setup is also a 6lb BP/W (40lb mach 5 extreme), and I wrapped important stuff up with some t-shirts, swim shorts, towells, etc. I checked the rest of my crap, as I didn't really care if my clothes made it or not. I would be devestated if my scuba gear got lost or made it late! So I'm planning on doing the exact same thing again. My advice though is to put your backplate on top in the duffel bag so it's easy to take out for security... no joke, I had the bomb squad inspect my stuff when I left everything in my bag and sent it through the scanner in Denver.

For what it's worth, I only had to use 2 kilos (4-5 lbs) of lead while on my dives (salt water, al80's, 3mm suit). I tried one dive without any weight, and I was actually pretty fine thoughout the dive, but positive buyancy became a slight issue at the end of the dive in the shallower waters. I'm also thinking of getting some cam band weight pockets for this trip, but I'm still undecided... weight belts don't both me too much (especilly with only 2 light weights on there).

And if clothing is optional, this trip may be more fun than I expected! hahaha

I'm taking an AL plate just cut down on travel weight, so I'm sure Ill be wearing a few pounds of lead. transplate w/ DR travel wing is my setup. just to double check and pack accordingly the marine park don't allow dive knifes / shears, right?

Is there any thing else that we need to or make sure we don't bring? err, if we have it.

not sure about anyone else but after shoveling about 8 inches of snow this morning Im even more ready to get to COZ...

Good point. Lose the knives. What about gloves?

Haha, when I woke up for work, I thought I heard it raining. Peeked out the window and it was just the wind. ...Got out of the shower 30 min later and saw edward scissor hands going to work, ughh. It definately made me anxious to get on the beach with a girly foo foo drink with an umbrella, slice of fruit and all, haha! This trip really can't come soon enough!!
