Very cool. I'm envious.

I'll be doing my OW check out dives in Mauritius in April, but I don't expect there will be anything like the marine life you'll see in Coz.

So I just got off the phone with my wife. We are just waiting on 7am MST to get here to on board.

she has one concern for this trip, she is newly certified and by that I mean only dives she has is pool work and the "open water" part of the class which was done in Blue Hole in New Mexico in Aug of 09. We found out a week or two after that she was pregnant, my 10 month old son has as many logged dives as my wife, does that make me a :dork2: to be excited about that?

Anyway, she wanted me to ask if any of the instructors going would mind using our welcome tank as a quick refresher dive, since it’s been so long since we have been wet and her comfort level in open water is low.

If not we can get someone from the LDS to do but I thought I'd ask here first.

Thanks

Hagan, with less than 24 dives yourself and her not diving since 2009, I think a refresher dive with an LDS Inst before the trip would be a good idea. I generally also suggest hiring a private DM for newbies on their first dive day in Coz. There will be Insts in the Invasion, but they're paying to be there too - so I'll still suggest hiring a private DM first boat trip for you two. The more experienced will still help y'all along, but it'd be money well spent.

Have a good trip. :pilot:

Yes you did, it's a mini version of the Mayan pyramid Chitzen Itza. We will be diving that from shore during the SB invasion to Cozumel.

Chicken pizza? Wish I was there. :crafty:

Hagan34 let you wife know that we have other new divers on this trip and the dive op is well aware. They put a DM in the water with every group of 8 divers which is how drift diving works reguardless of your experience level at Dive Paradise. They also have a policy of no more than 16 divers per boat.

Also I second what DandyDon said there is still plenty of time for both of you to do a reresher course with you LDS to shake off the rust.

There is still time left to join, its going to be not to be miss event.;)
