Where's the sport in that?

The sport with that setup is getting wrenches in there to tighten the pinch nuts down on the end of the all-thread opposite from where the back plate attaches.

One thing not yet mentioned... if you do cut the bolts yourself, be sure and smooth the cut ends before you use them. Nothing like catching a dry glove or other bit of gear on something sharp just before you splash.

And another thing, if you are using 3/8 bolts try to find nuts that are a different grade SS to help prevent galling. With the 5/16 bolts, galling doesn't seem to be a problem.
