I know this is an OLD thread, but I'll toss this out there.
My previous suit had the older "bolt" style valve. I had to unscrew the bolt, do my biz, then screw it down again.
The suit I have now has an aluminum OMS and works really well. I like it much better than the bolt kind. There are no "controls" just hook it up, prime and go diving. Any time I need to go, I just go. Can't get easier than that.
I modified the valve before I installed it by replacing the small hose barb fitting with one that will accept 3/8 ID hose. The fitting was 2 bucks at the local hardware store. The 3/8 ID hose fits the quick disconnect fitting without any other adapters.
To rinse it I use a catchup bottle with a hose glued to the top and either mouthwash or a mild chlorine solution.
