Some spots are 45-50 feet, but inside the kelp is around 35-40'.
Here's some White Point anemones;

At high tide you can sit on the cement blocks on the beach in the center of the picture, put your fins on and go. Exiting at high tide is great as well. Swim up to the cement, remove fins and step out. Low tide sucks big time.
The overhangs and best diving is just outside the kelp to the far left of the picture.

That is the absolute best entry possible at White Point! When the tide is high, I love it....so simple!

I've never been to the overhangs, but I will make my way out there next time.

Rumor has it that there's a third reef (runs parallel to the shore, so if you just keep going out, you'll run into the first one right away, the second one after a couple minutes of kicking....and apparently the third one is five or so minutes on a scooter) and it's the "best socal shore dive!" according to a friend of mine.

Unfortunately, it would be an excessively long surface swim....possibly dangerous if there's any amount of boat traffice. So I haven't done it yet....but if I can source a scooter sometime, I'll be out there in a heart beat!

There ya go! :)
The high spot directly south of the baseball field has the best overhangs.
Thanks for the map. Where are you getting the Bathymetry layout off the Seafloor Mapping Lab website? I got this far : Seafloor Mapping Lab at CSUMB: Partners but can't seem to find the proper file for the peninsula. Any help would be much appreciated;)
