For TDI and DSAT, crossing over is OK. For GUE, you have to do the whole list of courses again. One more issue about GUE training is that you can't take the course you want immediately. You have to find an instructor with the proper rating and wait till he/she collects enough candidates. I've heard divers traveling for long distances and waiting for several months (sometimes more than a year) to get the GUE course they want.

I recommend trying a tropical location for your training. The Red Sea has a lot of technical instructors. Thailand might be a good idea as well.

Well the GUE instructor lives next door :D

plus i life in a tropical location, i live in Oman...

I managed to find two more people who are interested in the course! so if i approuched him he might agree to the Fundamentals.

there is a GUE tech 1 course starting in Dec with an instructor from Holland coming to Oman...

You'll have to take fundies first, don't forget.

Yea will do that!!!

I am trying to get few people into it so it will be easier for us to get instructors to come to Oman!!

I'm sure I will get jumped on here of I'm wrong, but, if your aim is to ultimately dive CCR GUE is not the way to go. (They dont believe in CCR)

If you want to dive wrecks deeper than 50m you have 3 choices.

1)Get tech training and dive them on air. Max depth on air due to oxygen considerations is around 60m. Some divers (especially GUE ) would consider 30m to be the maximum on air.You need to get trained,go dive a lot then decide what works for you.

2)Dive them OC trimix. I have no idea if Trimix is even available in Oman. Its probably incredibly expensive if it is.

3)Dive them CC trimix. Probably the best way to go,especially for anything deeper than 80m or so. Again, very expensive, lots of training. Do you have a buddy that will also be diving CC with you? Is there any support for rebreathers in Oman?

Bottom line is that deep exploration diving is not trivial. Wonderful opportunity though. Maybe you need some buddies??

Well there are some buddies but i have started diving before them, so they said they want to do more diving before going tech!!!

as a start i am planning to do the OC trimix, once i get the hang of it, I will start trainning in CC...

Here is what I am going to do for my tech diving!!!

- start with DSAT up till tech50
- go get some diving experiance
- go TDI for Advance Deep wreck
- go get some diving experiance
- learn CC (will decided on which type when the time comes)

when going for experiance planning to travel around to UK & east Aisa.

and guys here with TDI knowledge??? can i cross over from DSAT??

Red Dragon you wont go far wrong with Olly at Wave Action. He is an experienced tech instructor as well as a BSAC recreational instructor. You also have the option of at least one tech center in Fujiera in the UAE who also do rebreather training.

Fixed it for you. ;)

It's looks there's a lot of meat at the bbq in Oman, I never know that, can you give me more info or web site to have a look?

And for the TDI classes, just jump to the red sea, there's plenty of tdi instructor and dive spots....
