Which one is better??

OK I have been reading threads for 5 days and night know about the Apexs ATX200 and the Zeagle Flathead VI. So a Finally I need to know which one is better. I need to use it for both fun diving in warm water but also ice diving, so I am going to try and post a poll on which one is better and why is it better.

Why the Apeks 200 over the Apex 50? Just about everyone agrees the 50 breathes as well as the 100 or 200 at a much better price. The 100 and 200 are lighter, but I believe use the same exact design as the 50, just different materiels. You probably can't go wrong with either. But you can probably get the Apeks serviced in most dive locales whereas Zeagles are not as common outside the U.S.

Zeagle is made in the USA.

i've got a 200, a 100 and a couple 50s and the 50s are pretty indistinguishable from the more expensive ones. i'd recommend either a TX50 or ATX50, and DS4 first stage. i have no opinion on the zeagle, not even by reputation...

Someone told me that Zeagle used to manufacture Apex regulators, after a while they decided to come out with their own line of products, is it true?

I beleive they had to come up with their own line when Apex was bought by Aqualung.

Huh... I was told by the local Aqualung/Apeks dealer that the Aqualung Legends (LX, Supreme, etc.) is a superior product to the ATX stuff. Aqualung supposedly started with the Apeks reg and improved it to come up with the legend. I dunno if there is truth in that but it is the current sales pitch..

My understanding is that when Aqualung purchased Apeks, Aqualung started producing the Legend which is a cloned ATX 50.

I would save the money and buy the ATX 50, which I did.
