I am contemplating getting a new BCD. I have am trying to choose between two. The Mares Hybrid Pro Tech and the Mares Hybrid Pure. I do some cold water diving, not as much as I used to, lately I have done more warm water than cold water diving. Besides the removable vest and more D-rings is there an advantage choosing the Pro Tec over the Pure?

I currently have a BP/wing setup.

I have a very hard time believing this is not an attempt at trolling given you already own the only set-up you should ever need. That said, if you are serious you should take a look at this thread http://www.scubaboard.com/forums/bu...rs-plus-weight-pouch-dropping-root-cause.html before you buy and realize that after you do Mares will more than likely not be there for you in regards to customer support, should you need it.

If you have a bp/wing I would pass on these two. I personally passed on both and went with a aqua lung axiom. I felt it was more comfortable than the normal hybrid or the hybrid pro tech. I use to dive with the dragon and mares icon.

I have donated a few MRS pockets to Davey Jones locker. Take a pass on the fancy BCD, its hard to beat a BP/W and there are so many other dive goodies to spend your money on. For the money you can but a nice computer, a cheap u/w camera, etc....
