Looking for a new drysuit. I wI'll use the suit in cold fresh water lakes and quarries and will also use them on technical dives in ocean on wrecks. As of now have little interest in cave diving but who knows. Thoughts? I'm also debating on which zipper...traditional metal or the plastic ones?

If you are staying with DUI, I'd go CF200X with metal zip if you are doing local diving
I am definitely going DUI but I wanted to avoid the compressed neoprene because of weight and dry times. Those two things are certainly not deal breakers but I dive bare trilam HD right now and I know I like trilam so why change?

what is wrong with your bare?
Bad fitting, old...seams slightly leaking. Yes I know it has lifetime warranty on seams but cost to send the suit out and have it altered to fit better will be a good chunk of what I can get a new clx450 for.

flx with metal zip for me, but if you're not travelling, then the CF200x would really be what I would go for...

Any particular reason for FLX over cx450? Just curious. My number one priority is whatever I get will need to last (assuming I do my part when it comes to care). Sounds like clx450 is stronger matrial maybe at cost of flexibility.

sorry, you're correct, I had them backwards. I thought the FLX was cordura. CLX450 will be most durable behind the CF200, with the FLX being a bit more flexible in the top. For a bag suit though, DUI wouldn't be anywhere near the top of my list for what it is worth, but they wouldn't be on the top for neoprene either. There are suits equally as well made for half the price of the DUI suits

My dealer will get me a clx450 for $1700 custom fitted. I couldn't find anything cheaper than that and good quality...

well then that is very nice of your dealer! Make sure you get the CF200 butt, crotch, knee, and elbow pads, the Kevlar isn't worth it, though if you're concerned about weight and dry time, they will dry a bit faster. Also make sure you have pockets put on there, unless you're diving sidemount, in which case I prever the Dive Rite thigh pockets that aren't glued on. P-Valve is also required equipment in my book, and the Dive Rite is my favorite of the lot out there. I'd also go with socks and rock boots over any of the other options.
