Hi all,

I qualified for the Double Down promotion Halcyon is running. Which double wing would you pick up? I own a pair of 100 HP and one 80 HP.

I dive dry in California, would I be okay with the 40 lb wing Evolve? Or should I go bigger to there next size up? I also have a 19 cf pony Luxfer that I sling and the Halcyon Explorer 9amp 21watt HID.

Thanks,

MG

I was the poster in the original link. I ended up going with th Oxycheq 55lb Vertex wing and I have been very happy. The Oxycheq wings tend to provide less than the specified lift when mounted to a BP. In fact, a NACD Journal article from the last year or stated that my Vertex was probably closer to 46lbs - just perfect for my needs.

I sized mine to include future needs and larger stages/deco bottles (I am currently diving with 40.

Lots of great options including DSS and DR, but I was very happy with my 30lb Signature wing I went with another Oxycheq product (I like the ability to service the bladder.

Depends on your exposure suit. Follow the link for cool_hardware52 advise.

I doubt Halcyon would include Oxycheq, DSS, or DR wings as options in the Halcyon Double Down promotion.

As a previous post of mine was referenced I thought I would give an update.

Sorry for the confusion. But that said, from the technical side, each diver must determine the merits of robustness of design, materials and contraction methods - and of course commercial concerns.

I doubt Halcyon would include Oxycheq, DSS, or DR wings as options in the Halcyon Double Down promotion.

If you plan to stay with that gear, a 40 lbls would be great, if you plan to go for heavier doubles, like 120 or 130s, or plan to dive fresh water, maybe you should consider the 60 lbls

Aren't you the chap you was robustly singing the praises of the BCD with a lever you could push up to go up and down to go down a few months ago? Now you're diving doubles, slining ponies and using big shiny lights?

Congratulations!
