I drove down to Macon, Ga to Divers Supply today. They have a very wide selection of BCDs and all other diving products.

I tried on a number of BCDs, by TUSA, MARES, CRESSI, their store brand and finally Zeagles.

I liked the Mares Peguses, Cressi Back Jac out of those 4. The Peg had crotch straps, no cumberbund and was nice but only plastic rings. The Back Jac was very comfortable, steel rings with bund but the nylon webbing was thinner it seemed than the others.

Their store brand was like a tank, heavy, bulky and was priced cheap but it was like a Korean copy, a bad copy of someone else's BCD.

I tried the Ranger and it was very nice, they pulled an Escape and it was lighter, easier to wear and with the pull out integrated weights was ok, but I did not like the velcro.

They pulled the Stiletto and it fit perfectly. That's what I walked out with. I'll add crotch straps and feel it was the right choice for me.

Thanks everybody and Scott you too, having great input really helped me know what I was looking at and for.

Now I can train with what I'll be diving with.

Best Regards,
Bob C.

Good Choice Bob, I loved my Silletto and still do.. but fell in love with a Ranger LTD 09...I spend most of my non diving free time in the garage talking to it. Whenever I have any spare money I send some to my ex-wife....then Scott and Zeagle get the rest... :D

Hey Bob!!

Congrats on your purchase!

While it is good for people to get feedback online, and offer suggestions, I love it when a customer can actually go in a shop and try on various brands and models of BCs to decide for themselves based on fit and feel....and when they ultimately decide on ours, it is a big compliment.

Thanks for your post, and enjoy that new BC! If you need any other help, feel free to ask!

Dive safe,

Scott

I am going to add a crotch strap to the Stiletto for sure....

it was good being able to compare stuff side by side & try stuff on, that way your hands can touch each BCDs features.

Hey Boy Howdy !!!!!

Dove with the new Zeagle today. Now that's what I'm talking about, sweet and easy to control my buoyancy, 6 lbs and lots of room to store my goodies.

Used the hose adapted to wash it out and all done.... ready to go again on Sunday.

Regards

my Zeagle lasted 12 years before it gave out. Here is to hoping that you have 12 more good years of diving. There are plenty of used stuff out there and shopping with save you a bunch. Talk to the local dive shops, they may have an interest in having guy with your experience around the shop...the people with money to spend are your age, empty nesters and bored to tears looking for somethingt to do. Maybe a shop owner could use you as a marketing opportunity to sell business. Lots of us patriotic folks would love to do business with a retired service member. Congratulations on your retirement.

Thanks, great ideas.... I'd love to work in the dive industry.......... and thanks for the kind words!
Bob C.
