Hi guys,
I´m AOW with 33 logged dives so far. All my diving has been taking place in tropical waters with 3mm shortys and rental equipment. I have now slowly started to put together my own kit starting with fins, mask and computer and am now looking to get my own BCD as well as regs most likely.
The thing is that I normally live in Sweden and diving there requires quite a different setup than tropical diving. As I want to have equipment I can use in both environments it is important for me to get it right the first time so i can get gear I´ll be using for years to come.
As I am currently in malaysia I was looking att buying some gear here since everything is a lot cheaper than back home. I found a Zeagle retailer here in KL and he is selling the Ranger, Escape as well as most likely being able to order a BP/W set-up. Now I have tried both the Ranger and escape on and they fit nicely but still feel a bit cluttered.
The BP/W option to me at least sounds a bit more interesting since I can cusomize the rig after my demands and easily change it as my diving changes. Also for travel it seems more convenient or am I wrong?
My diving back home will be most likely wreck diving, and really cold water diving with temperatures just a few degrees above zero. Also I´ll start of using only one tank but who knows what will happen in a few years.
I liked the Ranger since it can be used with two tanks as well but as I said it felt a bit bulky with all the pockets and stuff around it. Wouldn´t a BP/w setup work just as well for me even though I am not a super experienced diver? Since I am going to have to learn to dive dry suit anyway I thought I might as well also learn to dive a BP/w and that way I have a set-up more flexible when my diving advances (planning on starting UW-photo as well)?
I just wanted to know what you guys think basically. As for the BP/W I think the Zeagles are the only one I can get hold of here other "normal" BCD manufacturors that have retailers here are Mares, SeacSub and Dacor.
Alright enough babbling let me know what you think.
