As a new diver I was thinking about this the other day and was wondering why a lot of experienced divers were ditching their consoles for wrist mounts. Then I realized a console is good, but there are so many cool dive computer wrist mounts out there that may be better than the consoles. Plus, you can wear a pretty sporty watch. Anyway, I was looking into this when I was in the market for a computer. I went with a puck that could be either mounted in the console or worn as a watch. After putting the computer and my dive watch on the same arm (left), I thought it was a little silly and decided to put it in the console. Just so happens it is compatible. So, I have the computer, spg, and compass on the console. Dive watch, which can act as a backup computer with audible ascent alarm on my left arm. Since I feel as though I check my air more often than a seasoned vet, I like having everything there when I take a look. Everything to the left, nothing to the right since I am right handed. Tools, lights, bags for use in by my right hand. On the ascent, I never thought about the difficulty of dumping air with my left, since I have a dump valve on my right...
