Hi All,

We are looking for places in the Caribbean where the reefs aren’t dead (sigh).
We’ve been to Aruba, Curaçao, Cayman, St. Lucia (nice!), St. Croix, Turks in the last 3 years.

We are looking for a dive resort but a little more upscale. We plan to stay 2-2.5 weeks. We will have a rental car.
We are new-ish divers so nothing super advanced. We are firmly recreational divers, nitrox certified but not clowns.

Thanks for your recommendations!

There is death everywhere; get over it. It is part of the life-cycle of a reef. Apparently you've had some bad experiences; where?

More upscale than what?
Why Dominica?
There are only a few dive operations on Dominica: in the far northwest of the island, and in the southwest, near Roseau and Soufriere.
Best (for cost and logistics) to make arrangements through the dive shop, using their accommodation links, rather than going to a high-end resort (there are very few) and then trying to make diving arrangements.

Hi @Bleuu

How about a week on Little Cayman and a week on Cayman Brac? I don't think SCTLD has been reported there yet just bleaching. There is good shore diving on Cayman Brac if you wanted to give that a try in addition to boat diving, would require a car.

Thanks - this may be an option. Hawaii is another one. Car isn’t a problem. Sounds like folks didn’t like Dominica much on this board.

I love Dominica. It is not full of upscale resorts. Whatever that means.
