My husband has decided that he wants to stay at a more social place for our first trip to Bonaire, so we chose Buddy's. Since it's just the 2 of us we will most likely stay in a hotel room. I understand that Buddy's has bought out an older resort. Should I make any special room requests? Are any areas (rooms) nicer than others?

Buddy's drive through tank station is another plus. Drive up, unload your empties, load full ones, and you're on your way:)
Yep, maximize your bottomtime...

I'm wondering the same thing - which area is best to stay in the combined resort. Which are nicer, or handier for diving there, or quieter.

You will enjoy Buddy's. The house reef is also great as well:) Make sure you go North to Cap Don's and check out the small boat :-)

Buddy's bought Lions Dive, a time share. Lions renovated several of their rooms about a year/year and a half ago. Some of the rooms they renovated have AC throughout (living area, dining area, bedrooms). You may want to see if you can get one of those. Buddy's is well kept and clean, so I doubt you will have a bad experience. Augusto at the dive shop is also very nice.

Have a great trip!

AFAIK, Buddy's IS the older resort. I met the construction supervisor who was just completing the renovation on Lions Dive in 2004, right before Buddy's bought it. So if you stay at LD, you'll have to walk over to Buddy's(there's a gate between the properties along the water) to the diveshop.

The gate on the dock was gone the last time I was there (Dec 04) and the gate between the resorts was open.
