My fundies instructor suggested that while standing, if you let your hand fall on your side the fingertips should be able to reach to just about the bottom of the pocket...

YMMV of course :)

Diving wet, I wear X-shorts (which were a fabulous idea). I also wear Chuck Taylor tennis shoes so my Jet fins will fit. As a result of the baggy shorts and tennies, my cavern guide last week teased me constantly about where my skateboard was :)

I agree. You should be able to reach the bottom of the pocket without straining.

Only person I ever saw who looked ready to go to a pickup basketball game right after diving.

When you go for cave class next year I think you should freak him out by showing up the first day with a skateboard. :)

... so no one can see the blue H on it!

Thanks for all the suggestions.

In my question I have not been as clear as I could have been.

After reading several posts regarding pocket placement I gathered that the pockets are usually permanently attached to either wet or dry suit.

What I am trying to find out is if DIR divers would attach pockets(one each side) directly to their harnass?

Regards,

J. Brown

No pockets on the harness. Pockets on each thigh of the exposure suit.
