I have a group of divers that I am traveling with to cozumel in January. Several members of the group travel with aluminum 19's. Where would be the most appropriate place to get these filled. The outfit we dive with does not fill tanks on site. We arrive on a sunday afternoon and nobody in the group has a fill whip for cross tank equalizing. Thanks in advance for your input.

As others have said your best option would be to go through your OP and let them know your needs in advance. Meriando 87 is on 30th and calle 7, the entrance is mid block up 7th. They are a round the clock operation but I do not know what thier retail hours are but the OP I use has had plenty of occasions when they have run up ponies or rebreather bottles up the night before to have them filled for the next morning.

Notify your op prior to your arrival and make arrangements to get the tanks to them the night before your first scheduled dive (preferably no later than 5 or 6pm) and they will have them filled for you and ready on the boat the following day - we do it all the time for our divers traveling with bail out bottles.

Christi's and Cvchief's answer is what i would recommend. Let your dive operator know in advance and most will be happy to fill for you. The majority use Meridiano87 for fills so they need a heads up so they can get them filled beforehand.

Depending on what dive operator you're using, Aldora for example has their own fill station. Deep Exposure also has their own fill station f you're staying downtown, you can walk to them. Scuba Club Cozumel also fills on-site. There are others but can't remember off top of my head.
