I am leaving for cozumel tomorrow morning and we are staying at Allegro Cozumel which I think is the sothern part of cozumel. Anyways, I have stayed there before and my wife did not like the food at all. Most people review this resort as real nice with great diving, but terrible food. Does anyone have any recomendations on where to eat where the food is real good. Obviously I don't mind leaving the resort.
Thanks,
Mike

What do you prefer to eat, bayondai?

It doesn't really matter to me. My wife is allergic to most seafood so somewhere where we have a little variety. Any type of chicken or steak, burgers, etc... It doesn't have to be a specific style of food if you know what I mean. I hope that helps.

I vote for Sonora Grill - Excellent fajitas! And don't forget to visit the music shop across the street. The owner runs a summer program for kids... he will show you pictures of his "Music Museum" home and is happy to demonstate every instrument in the shop (Nice to meet someone who truly loves their work)

Pancho's Backyard - I have not had anything bad there (a little pricy, but not too much)

That's a shame since the seafood is very good in Cozumel. Many of the restaurants serve traditional island food which is very spicy. I try to avoid it since I get reflux underwater. :frown: Christi's list has all the best restaurants that serve spicy stuff and seafood. For steaks, Pepe's is good and they make a killer Caesar salad. Hard Rock Cafe has a decent burger, but it is full of cruisers. My favorite is The French Quarter which has excellent New Orleans style cuisine. I always go to Casa Denis for the atmosphere and they usually have fresh snapper. Generally, the food in Cozumel is quite good except for the pizza, which is quite strange. :)

I loved Guido's! Not only was the food wonderful, but the ambiance of a Euro-style courtyard, little white lights, balmy outside air and nice trees was really great. I love comfortable chairs!

When we stayed at the Allegro three years ago we thought that the rooms were not very nice but the food was good.
