I'm a new diver in central Florida and would love to find out from you experienced guys some places to go. I don't have a regular buddy at this time but am working on that. I am interested primarily in the Gulf and Atlantic. Being in the center of the State widens one choices. I am really interested in hunting, whether fish, bugs, shark teeth or fossils, and would like to get some info on beach diving south of Sebastian. What have you found to be the good locations, boats and dives, the more specific the better. I do have my first big trip planned for the first of next month, three days out in the Middlegrounds. But I need some alternatives cause I sure can't afford that trip to often, especially after buying equipment.

Welcome to the board and be sure to check the Florida Conch Divers area... as to where to dive, after all of this rain, I would suggest most any parking lot and even a few streets :tease:

Springs to dive are Alexander and Blue, and my fav ocean dives are out of Boyton and West Palm.

Brad,

At the risk of blowing my own horn and plugging the shop where I work. There are lots of great wrecks right offshore from Daytona Beach. We dive from our 42 ft boat dive boat (Sea Dog Diver)

NetDoc is right, the local springs are great too..esp Blue Springs. Doing the short drift back after diving the spring is pretty cool. After al the ocean diving I do off daytona, I still like the springs as much.

Warm regards
Bristolxyz

PS, the Conch Divers are a good bunch :0

Thanks for the replies. I am headed to Blue Springs tomorrow tagging along with a class. The instuctor is gonna let me just hang out and practice. I had seen the Conch Divers site when I first found this forum but figured it was a bunch of Keys divers so I never checked it out. Will definitely do so now.
