Where to dive around Johnson City TN?

I am heading to the mountains the weekend of October 12-15 and I just wanted to know if there was any diving close to Johnson City/Roan Mountain area. If not I will leave my gear and the house, but I can not pass the opportunity fo r some good diving in the mountains if there is such..

I've never dived up in that area, but I've camped and canoed at Watauga Lake. It's east of Elizabethton.
The waters were very clear, albeit it was in the fall of the year.

Thanks for the info, I have been contemplating wether I should pack up my dive gear or not. I think I might just in case. I go up there every year this time of year for a family reunion I know there is a stream tha truns through the mountains that we get brave and swim in from time to time and it is really cold. But I tempted to try it with my 5mm and scuba gear.
