I agree completely with all that you just said. I'm just saying that it's possible that GI3 and co. simply made these videos and put them out there in the public domain. Or at least said at one point, hey, we don't care who sees these, who distributes, just as long as you don't make money from the distribution.
It happens all the time in the software world.
Which brings me back to my original point. IF it is the case that it would be legal to digitize and distribute these videos, which I do believe was my very first question in this thread, then I'd be willing to do it.
Of course, if it's not legal, then obviously I wouldn't do it. I wouldnt' have asked if it was legal in the first place if I had intentions of thumbing my nose at the law or saying to hell with GI3.
And I guess it's pretty apparent that nobody knows what the legality of this would be. Better to err on the side of caution. ut:
