I think my first trip after certification was to Tuwanek. Often a very nice site near Vancouver but we had less than 1 ft viz and it took several attempts to get down to 20 ft without losing each other.

Have to think, if it were socal, would it be so deserted? Unless there's a reserve / state park on the ocean.
Mexico is also densely populated...
