Wow! No new posts on this board. Where is everyone? What has happened to the great cast of charecters with all the great wisdom and wit?
One can only hope the viz is sooo good that they are all out diving...
It's amazing. No questions on new gear. No new cool dive sites.
I guess I better go diving.

I'm here ... not much to talk about though. Slow week-end ... only one dive (Edmonds Oil Dock).

I did work the DUI Dog Days event on Saturday ... but was beach support. Got measured for my next new drysuit (the fourth one in as many years).

Guess I'm just too focused on Bonaire right now ... 11 days and counting ... :D

Bob,

Have a great trip. If you have been before you know bring your hard soled booties. We loved the south all the sites south of Red Slave were great.

Well, I was diving on Sunday at Redondo. It was my first time there. I thought it was a nice enough site to return to again.

My husband and I dove at Owens Beach Sunday at the DUI demo thing. We had a ball. I wasn't inspired by the appearance of Owens Beach as a dive site at first -- it just looked like pretty boring pea gravel bottom, and I didn't think we'd see anything very interesting. Turned out to be a great dive! The highlight was a fiery red juvenile wolf eel hanging out under a couple of kelp leaves, but there was a lot more there. The bottom was almost covered with great big sculpins, among other things. And the viz was really good. Best of all, the crushed neoprene dry suit kept me really warm :)

Although it's a long drive to Tacoma, I'd sure dive there again. Easy entry, good facilities, and lots to see!

You hit it on a good day ... the site can be very current-sensitive. Also, there's a small barge at about 90 fsw. Last time down there we saw two octopus tucked up under the barge.

It's also a great site for six-gill sightings ...

We didn't get near that deep -- 67 feet max. And there was NO current -- maybe DUI planned it that way? Anyway, it was an unexpected really great dive. And the best part -- our "escort" (required because, although I have done ALL my diving here in a dry suit, I don't have a dry suit "certification") was the instructor who did my second two open water dives, and he was profusely complimentary about how much my skills have improved. "You look really COMFORTABLE down there . . . and your position and your kicking were great." I think I've had some good mentoring.

LOL - if that's the same instructor from that shop who was working the dives on Saturday ... he's the one who launched into me rather vehemently when he heard me mention to someone else that I dive a lot with DIR divers. So much so, in fact, that the person I was talking to walked away before he could start in on her too. It put a chill on the beach conversation until said instructor was safely underwater.

Opinionated people don't bother me ... I happen to be one ... but sometimes folks forget that we're just doing this for a bit of fun ...

Ugh, just got back from Columbus, Ohio. Not even sure if there is anything around there worth diving?

Anyways, who wants to go diving next week after work? I promise to try to make a witty comment here post dive. :)

Jason, if you'll put up with me, I think I'm going to have a dry suit by Tuesday . . .
