Hullsner,
I notice you been diving for a couple of years and I assume you are finishing high school. Time and money are the most important factors. If you have the money and want to spend a week or two, then look real hard at Cozumel. The diving conditions are outstanding in all respects. Shop and you;ll find a good deal. Now, if you have a little more time and a little more money (not much) you should strongly consider Utila, Bay Islands. You can go to utila with nothing more than a backpack (take deet), walk on the island and find a good place to dive. If you are interested in doing a lot of inexpensive diving, and at the same time enhancing your diving credentials, then Utila is a great place. You can walk up to Countyplace, talk to Annie and get an apartment for $200-$250.00 per month. You can dive and do training all the way through instructor there. There are eleven dive operations on the island. Very competitive. Dive packages are about $125.00 for 10 dives. If your taking training, the diving is included. Some of the dive operators have their own lodging. Two of the more solid opeartions are Deep Blue Divers and Bay Islands College of Diving (BICD) The rest, you should check them out. So that' it, I suggest Cozumel or Utila.
