that jump doesn't look that different from Oil Slick Leap site in Bonaire..

Dive: 956/957
Site: MUSAN
Region: Famagusta District
Dive Time: 65 and 70 minutes
Maximum Depth: 12.3 metres

Museum of Underwater Sculpture Ayia Napa (MUSAN). An underwater sculpture park and marine conservation area 200 metres off a popular tourist beach. I'm not sure when this was completed, but it's a new site for me. While I'm not really the kind of person that enjoys art installations, I would congratulate the authorities on making more underwater attractions. Cyprus has long lagged behind Malta in making itself attractive to divers.

In terms of practicalities, if you have your own kit, you can just turn up and dive for free which was a nice surprise. I was expecting it to be more heavily regulated. The site is well marked by buoys, so easy to find. On my first dive, I did a surface swim and descended on to it. On the second dive, I set myself the challenge of navigating to it underwater. It wasn't difficult!

The site is shallow. Maximum depth is around 12 metres. A slow swim around the sculptures takes about 15 minutes. I also spent some time looking around the rocky reefs that surround the attraction. Fish life was surprisingly abundant. Perhaps the marine conservation area is actually being recognised!

MUSAN didn't need to be dived twice, but the best part in my opinion was that my family could have a day at the beach while I dived.

Photos are just GoPro screenshots, so please don't judge!

Your idea of toasty and mine are about 20C difference..

A local former sand quarry in South-Western Finland with tree stumps, lake mussels and other stuff.

Details:
Depth 9 to 15 feet.
Temperature 25C/77F (surface) to 15C/59F (bottom).
Visibility about 2m or 6 feet.
Equipment: one 7 litre 200 bar steel cylinder hand held, one Apeks regulator, a dive knife, a basic dive light (unused), fins, mask, swimming trunks, and a Heinrichs Weikamp bottom timer. Exposure protection: none. Weights: none - the cylinder provides initial negativity.

Now, that dive knife is a vital safety precaution. I never dive without at least one.

The impatient can skip to 5:30.
