I was at Blue Heron Bridge today. Nice to solo after the past couple days of having buddies and the hunt for dwarf froggies. Did find 5, and a sea horse, and lots of octopuses. Water still chilly at 74°. Brrr

wow you make my life very miserable. i hope you enjoy it lucky you are. still 4 months of hibernation for me in the cold winter of the northern emisphere.Another trip with Dive Tutukaka. It was free as I've given them so much money in the past
An unusually social trip for me. Everyone on the boat was very friendly. I met an aspiring young technical diver with all the gear and we ended up diving together (but not buddying) on the second dive. I wanted to try out a new lens for my GoPro which turned out to be awesome. Water temperature 21-22 degrees C.

Shark Fin Cave | Poor Knights | New Zealand
Maximum Depth: 24.5 metres
Dive Time: 60 minutes
Perfect conditions. Visibility was around 20 metres. Messed around in a little cavern before looking at the fish and playing with my GoPro.

Middle Arch | Poor Knights | New Zealand
Maximum Depth: 25.4 metres
Dive Time: 70 minutes
The captain's choice of dive site was odd. It was right next to Middle Arch, one of the most iconic sites at the Knights. While nice, our location was a little humdrum and I couldn't understand why we didn't park up around the corner and dive the arch. I decided to get there under fin power and dive it anyway. The boat crew agreed and gave me 70 minute dive time. I took my new found friend.
Visibility in the arch was stunning by local standards, probably 25 metres. It was loaded with fish. It was like diving in an aquarium. Barring rare large animal encounters, it was as good as it gets at the Poor Knights. My new found friend was absolutely buzzing with the experience and when we surfaced in the air pocket of a small cavern, he could barely contain himself. It reminded me that I do like diving with other people, just not buddying with them. It was also quite gratifying to out-breathe my new found friend. I was on a single 12L at 220bar and he was on twin 12L at 160bar. He was gutted when he had to wave goodbye and head back to the boat.
Some photos from the day. Underwater photos are just GoPro screenshots, so don't judge me!

I couldn't bear it mate. I'd like to live closer to the equator if I could. I must be a reptile. I do great in hot climates, not so much in the cold. However, I am trying to be grateful for what I have right now. If I were you, I'd get in my car and keep driving south and wouldn't stop until it was warm. That's something I can't do, although it would be driving north in my case.
Would you be willing to share any tips on finding those dwarf frogfish? Would love to see some. Are they in the grassy area south of the west bridge pilings perhaps?I was at Blue Heron Bridge today.
