Did OW check dives 1,2 with 3 students, and found the biggest cuttlefish I've ever seen in my life. He was fearless and just hung out and watched us.
28 degrees celcius, bathing suit only warm, vis poor at 3 meters.
My new scuba babies Loved it. Just wait til they get good vis.

Unfortunately, the vis today turned out to be extremely :censored: :depressed:

Gorgeous! Shawn went diving there this year but he neglected to describe how beautiful it was! Thanks for the video - now I know for sure exactly what I was missing out on :OP

Oh TeamCasa, how you make me jealous... 50+ in my own backyard!!

We're on our third day of five in Costa Rica.

Today, we dove at Dos Sombreros and Flat Rock in the Playa Conchal/Flamingo area of Costa Rica. Vis was between 15-20 feet. Water was 85 degrees.

Saw a sleeping Nurse Shark, lots of eels and nudibranches (or is it nudibranchi?). Yesterday was the white tipped reef shark and rays.

Attached images are lobster, nudibranch, and "little guy in a barnacle". (Yes, that is the technical term)

If you come back out here Leah, I'll be happy to show you guys around!

Little belated, but dived at Breakwater over this last weekend. Saturday wasn't bad as far as conditions go, great vis, and I was DMing for an OW class so I took advantage of the great vis and showed my two students I was watching over all kinds of stuff. They had a blast. We found moon jellies, a Ringed dorid, a Monterey dorid, all different kinds of surfperches, etc. Before the first dive we had a harbor seal cruising around us on the surface and before the second dive we had a sea otter hanging around us briefly so yeah it was awesome.

And then there was Sunday. All I gotta say is I'm glad it's over and nobody (including me) got hurt. Granted others outside our class weren't so lucky, at least one fire engine came up, not sure if they transported anyone, and one of the other DMs in our class performed two rescues on divers who got shoved up into the rocks on the wall. Vis was about 1 foot so it was a stark contrast to the prior day. Can't say I ever want to be exiting or entering surf that's tall enough to be breaking over my head again. **** that.

A great night dive, excellent vis.

Went diving at Alabama Blue Water Adventures today...it's a flooded quarry just north of Birmingham.

First dive was a semi-solo scooter dive (one of the local tech divers was nice enough to let me borrow his X-scooter). Now I want an X-scooter! :)

Second dive was with a fairly new diver, to the sunken underwater school bus in 65 ft of water.

The air temp was about 55 degrees, and the water temp in the mid-60's...brrrrrr!

There was two OW classes doing their checkout dives..in wetsuits...yipes!
