When can I dive after DNC surgery

I just had a DNC at the hospital 9/29 and have a scuba diving trip planned for 120 foot dive. This would be 8 days after surgery- any idea if this is ok?

You mean a D&C?
If so, unless there is a GYN here, I suggest you discuss with the person who did the procedure. He knows more about your situation than anybody here.

My recent experience calling DAN taught me that one may not be talking to an expert. In any case DAN doesn't know the the OP's medical situation/history. (BTW, I'm a contributor to DAN.)

The OP needs to talk to a gynecologist, preferably her own.

I'll stick to the line of 'ask your obgyn', but hypothetically, as an obgyn I tell my pts 'nothing in the vagina or swimming in pools' until the bleeding has stopped. I'd probably say the same thing about diving. I'd also hypothesise most obgyn know little about scuba diving

I would try to find a doc who is a gyn AND familiar with dive medicine. I see you're in San Francisco, but there's a great OB/GYN in St Louis, Teresa Knight, who is also an avid diver. I know that doesn't necessarily mean she knows about 'dive medicine', but she may be someone to shoot an email to for an opinion. This may too late - but they have a facebook page and you can message them. Women's Health Specialists
