Greetings,

Im in the market for fins and was wondering if anyone can add there .2 cents on the diff, if there is one, with Tusa X-Pert Zoom fins (http://scubatoys.com/store/detail.asp?PRODUCT_ID=ZoomFins) & Apollo Bio Fin Pros?(http://www.scubatoys.com/store/detail.asp?PRODUCT_ID=BioFinCstrap)

Also,

whats with these C-straps for $65?, U can get replacement Apollo straps for $14.50. (http://www.apollosportsusa.com/Products/Fins/Finstrap.htm)

and could buy 4 pairs of the Apollo ones for the same price.
I would think the 4 of them would last a good time. Am i wrong on this?

thanks
:D

I think the C-Straps are the spring straps. some people like them. some don't.

The few people I know who have the Apollo split fins really like them.
The people I know who have the Tusa split fin really like them also..
so doesn't seem like you can go wrong with either.

However... If the strap doesn't matter to you...
why pay $190 for the one with the spring strap

when it appears you can get the same fin with the regular strap for $139

Right - the standard Bios are 139 - but that is before you take your SB discount -

http://scubatoys.com/store/detail.asp?PRODUCT_ID=BioFins

and I don't use the spring straps myself - never broken a strap - but they are nice as far as fast to get off and on - but as far as spending the extra $50... you can always add them later if you wish.

Larry,

I do like the idea of that loop on the top of the strap on those fins ...

sure looks like it makes them easier to get off in the water especially
when you have gloves on.

Hi Larry,

What is the scubaboard discount? I buy most of my gear from Scuba Toys and am thinking about getting the zoom fins soon.

I make spring straps to fit them a lot cheaper than $65.

I've broken several straps over the years & never at an good time. I use springs now.

We dove saturday & the deckhand broke a strap for the 1st time, just as he was gearing up to go over & chain us off. Fortunately he had a save a dive kit with a spare strap. Unfortunately the strap was thinner than the original & kept pulling thjrough the buckles, it wouldn't hold. We got him diving by using zip ties to secure the ends.

Now I'm going to make him a set of springs as soon as he sends me the measurement I need.
