It's a conduit to meeting a ton of new dive buddies, at least that is what it has been for me.

The people ... the info .. the friends I've made and the dive buddies I have ... all because of my extended ScubaBoard family 
The family atmosphere! Without this board I wouldn't have met so many of the people I call friends and dive buddies. It's like coming home, catching up on the latest news and what your friends are doing, meeting new people...this is the scuba version of Cheers! (for those who remember the series)

I would have to say... it's the various levels of divers here. You will find ppl from beginning to take classes to those who've been diving so long they are nearly antiques... 
It's wonderful to ask a question and get so much information back, that you feel you are ready to make a real decision. Plus, when you ask about say... "this or that happened on my last dive, it felt wrong/crazy/ok/whatever, what do you think"... you get real experienced feedback. Sometimes you learn... hey that wasn't crazy at all, that's normal... and sometimes you get... ummmm, what the heck were you thinking... and yet other times you get that's ok, now you've learned... it's a huge variety of people out here, with lots of wisdom, humor, and encouragement to offer... and the best part... is they offer it willingly, and freely because they love diving and helping.
So enjoy your time here.
