The spring air is warming up and so is the water, I'm just itching to get back in the water again.

Dive Planning: my dive planning list is growing by the day.

The past few years I've found some ol' favorites and from talking to other divers I've got some new ones on the list, and then there's the pie in the sky - better save up for ones.

Here's a few of my more practical ones for this season:

  • Niagara River - all over the place - upper/lower, shore/boat, lazy and crazy:D
Brockville/St. Lawrence river: at least for a long weekend
Tobermory - 3 day weekend again
Lake Erie: Finally get out on Osprey or two (can you believe I havn't been yet  )
    The Sligo
    The Tiller
    The Lyman Davis
    Windmill Quarry
    Portage Quarry
    The Bahamas on Blackbeards
    The Chippawa drift
    North Carolina
and above all - avoid hurricanes or tropical storms :no

What's on your slate?

1000 Islands, 2 or 3 trips, Brockville for sure, then maybe Alex Bay and/or Cape Vincent
several trips on the Favors (some charters for fun, some training dives)
a couple trips with Osprey Charters
Dutch Springs PA, DUI Demo Days
Niagara River
Windmill Quarry, several times (training dives)
2 weeks on Grand Bahama Island (I may have a bedroom available for 1 week, PM me)
A long weekend near Boston
Tobemory is a maybe
Lake Champlain (sp?) is a maybe

and like Chris said: and above all - avoid hurricanes or tropical storms
(we've already been thru a couple, It would be nice to avoid that this year!!) :D

Great thread Chris!!

My Plans:
CCR Training
Lake Champlain for 2 weeks
Maybe Brockville
1000 Islands almost definate (Chippewa Bay)-15 mintues from Keystorm!
Lake Erie w/Osprey I HOPE!

I'm so ready, now if it'll just warm up!!

Chris,

Here's one link..the charter I use.

Here's a more detailed link to almost every wreck in Lake Champlain.

The Horse Ferry, while small and simple is really neat to see!! No other vessels known to be in existance.

Couple years ago they found B. Arnold's last gunboat.... guns still on board, mast still standing!!! I wish they'd open that up for diving! But I hear it's a bit deep.

Thanks Heather,
Wonderful info, I'll enjoy perusing the info.... maybe even squeeze in another dive to the plan.

That sounds like an awesome dive!! :D

How deep is a "bit"??

Last rumors I heard.... it is in recreational depth and it's not... they aren't releasing the location, but my dive ops int he area may know where it is. Seeing that they used an ROV my bet is it's over 200ft deep.

Sounds like fun. When do we leave?

Lets see, where am I gonna dive this year...

A couple trips on the "Favors" (training dives for the wife and son)
Windmill quarry? (see above)
Niagara River
Thousand Islands (Brockville with Discover)
Tobermory (maybe)
One or two trips with Osprey....
7 days in cave country in November

Pretty ambitious plan, but what the hell...

Just curious -- since I am on a Blackbeard's cruise in August -- when are you going out with Blackbeard's?
