No hablo rebreatherworld :)

And no clue what happened. Hopefully it is some site maintenance. As others have stated I would hate to see all the useful information gone with the click of a mouse.
Appears that Sotis's newer webshop is going through the same site maintenance https://nexusunderwater-com.3dcartstores.com/

Perhaps we should find out how much to buy the site?

Turning first to the Kaizen C7-BK filing

Several issues presented with the Kaizen filing. Rebreather World LLC may be tangential to the filing.

Case 19-24907-JKO Doc 16 Filed 12/03/19
Debtor name Kaizen Solutions International, LLC
United States Bankruptcy Court for the: SOUTHERN DISTRICT OF FLORIDA

******************

Rebreather World LLC - Articles of Dissolution - filed 190301, Florida Sec State

And the person appointed to wind up the company's activities and affairs - surprise, surprise

Emilie Voissem
That would seem to be the Emilie who is a co-defendant with Peter Sotis in USDC - Southern District of FL 19-20693

Dissolved - why?

"company was purchased by another individual"

******************

I couldn't find Deco Stop - if you are interested

******************

The reason for the Kaizen BK filing?

Likely the money that Robotka spirited away and is now the sitting in a trust account. As you can see the BK trustee wants it in his grasp.

******************

For a 7, the progress, in this case, is slow.

I doubt that anyone took the time to back up the database on RBW. Without that, it's garbage. Same thing for TDS.

Facebook has wiped out most of the forums and I've seen both my traffic drop a bit and my revenue decrease precipitously. Now we're being faced with a huge world economic downturn due to the Covid-19. Things are indeed getting dire. People who "Go Red", like @tbone1004 are ScubaBoard saviors. If you can give, please do. We don't want to become like RBW or TDS. And please, encourage others to post here. As Tom pointed out, FB is hard to search while we're relatively easy.

You're a true friend, indeed!

I used to read RBW all the time. Bummer.

Could someone PM me Sotis's email address? I am interested in trying to archive the site for information preservation.

Who owned it before him?

I googled around but most of the e-mail addresses I found are probably dead.

You might have a hard time getting a response from him. After the way so many in the dive community have attacked him, I highly doubt that he cares about preserving anything for us at this point. I am not saying not to try and I hope you are successful for all of us.

What a huge loss this will be to us. Yes, it was pretty dead for the past 5 years or so, with everyone moving to specialized Facebook groups, and responses were much slower than FB if you posted a “I have a problem, how do I fix this?” type question, but it was still a huuuuuge resource that was easily searchable (I’m looking at you, Facebook!). Especially for any of the rebreathers 5-10 years old or older (AP, Meg, KISS Classic, rEvo,etc.), there seemed to already be a discussion about every problem you might run into and how to solve them. I recently picked up a COPIS Meg head with some problems, and RBW was the first place I went. Not to mention the active discussions for the past 10 years or so on deco theory, as annoying as some of those threads turned out to be, there was some good discussion there.

It’s a real pity to lose that resource, like what we lost with all the Dive Xtras scooter discussions and info when Dive Matrix went down. I really hope someone managed/manages to get the info to archive.

Jim
