I'm looking for a caribbean/tropical full suit and noticed that some suits are described as steamers and others not - what's steamer mean?
Thanks,
Jim

Just a catchy name for a "full suit" or jumpsuit. Some may have forearm and calf flip seals but that's in common with any good wetsuit.

ok, simple enough, I thought that since some were labeled "steamer" others "full suit" I thought there was a difference.
Thanks for answering such a simple question.

From what I gather, a steamer is generally a fullsuit 5/4mm or thicker, and likely has taped and sealed seams.

This is from my familiarity with surfing wetsuits, so I assume diving wetsuits are similar....
