What type of valve is this and do they make a DIN or Yoke adapter? BTW, you get bonus points if you know where I took the pics.

That valve is for a SCBA used by the fire dept etc. Not generally used for diving. The fill adapter you show is for a commercial fitting. We have them in the dive shop because we fill tanks for contractors.

Looks like a older Scott Valve on a 2250 or 2216psi aluminum SCBA tank. Its not designed for dive use. Besides, the boyance characteristes of these tanks is about equal to a cork.

I belive it is for an SCBA

Yep, it's SCBA. They have a nice setup but the filter only produces grade D and the fill whips don't match up.

I hear of a lot of guys getting their tanks filled at the local firehouse, but they must have different setups.

You can buy a adaptor for the fill whip to fill a scuba tank. Find a diveshop that is a Global dealer or pm me and I can order you one.

Thanks for the link. Looks like adapters are readily available and not too expensive.

Does anyone know what it would take to get from their current grade D air to grade E? Is it just a larger/better/ more expensive air filter? If not, I'll post this over in the compressor forum.
