I hate checking in luggage, especially with expensive gear in it. I want to try to fit my BC, Reg, computer into my carry on. Do you think I can get it all to fit? The BC is the only thing that will give me a problem. Any suggestions to cram it all in one bag small enough to carry on? My computer is a AI wrist mount so I could even wear that.

Oh, the BC that I am leaning towards getting is the Scuba Pro Knighthawk.

You will be hard pressed to get everything into a carry on. Even using a BP/W with a travel wing.

I've heard of it being done, but I don't see how. I put reg/computer/mask in carryon and check the rest. I'm more concerned with baggage gorillas and lost luggage than I am with theft.

Well, you could wear your BC, that would be interesting....

I only pack the essential in my carryon ---- bathing suit, cert card, credit card, and sometimes my prescription mask. Everything else you can rent. :)

There isn't much advantage to trying to carry on the rest of your gear, unless you manage to cram everything in and don't have anything to check. My rule is that, if I end up checking any bag at all, then virtually everything gets checked.

That's my lazy advice.

I have a small black bag in which I can fit everything. I have a backplate with a normal eclipse wing, my seven-foot monster reg, fins, everything except wetsuit and weights. I don't have a canister light or camera, but I could probably fit those in my second carry on as well. After the third time coming back to Hawaii and having my bags lost for the third time I decided, no more checked luggage. You've probably got a weight inegrated BC? I dunno about that, they're pretty big.

When you gear was lost, did you get it back? If not did they reimburse you 100%?
