I am using an acrylic dome with a 60mm extension ring (5d3 + 17-40) and the result is that the front of the whole setup is too buoyant, is there anything that I can do other than buying a glass dome port? The whole setup is almost neutrally buoyant undewater. Thanks.

If your dome is flipping up, you can use tape on wheel weights from an auto supply store on the bottom shade ring to balance it. They're peel and stick and designed to live through car-washes. Start with a strip of them and add width each dive until you get the buoyancy where you want it. Generally, they're available in weights from 10-40grams in increments of 5grams.

Exactly what Larry said.

1lb ankle weight is probably way too much.
